MINUTES OF 2009 MEETINGS 

March 26, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 1:07 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the December 18, 2008 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: Jon Koons was not present, so Joe Glynn gave the treasurers report. Chapter 2 granted two scholarships at $300 each for a $600 expenditure. Dielectric gave a donation of $150 for a net balance of $136.96.

Old Business: The presentation on mixing 5.1 surround sound is tenatively scheduled for May 2009.

New Business: There was no new business.

Presentation: Televue corporation gave a presentation of a low cost TV automation system.

May 5, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 1:13 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the March 26, 2009 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's report: $52.00 was spent on food for the last meeting leaving a balance of $84.96

Old Business: None

New Business: telcen.com is moving their website to a new hosting company, which also involves sbe2.org since we are hosted at telcen.com. This is a chance to update the database. If it can't be automated, Bob Reite will give Joe Glynn a hard copy of the existing mailing list for Joe to prune.

Presentation: Don Cardone and Roger Cucci gave a presentation on audio processing for digital television.

August 26, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 1:00 PM

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of the May 5, 2009 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's report: The net balance was $265.06

Old Business: None

New Business: Currently Dielectric is the only chapter 2 sponsor. Three people passed the Certified Televison Operator exam. They were Jason Henderson, Chris Roach and Heidi Roach.

Presentation: Larry Bloomfield presented the Taste of NAB road show, with a lot of new equipment. Door prizes were given to all in attendence at the end of the meeting.

October 14, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glynn at 1:08 PM.

Minutes of the last meeting: The minutes of the August 26, 2009 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's report: The current balance is $257.06, after a charge for a paper statement. The treasurer will change our account to electronic statements to avoid this charge in the future. It was also noted that income was down because we now only have one sponsor, and that we may have to suspend scholarships for this year.

Old Business: None

New Business: The SBE Chapter 2 Christmas party is scheduled for Wednesday December 16, 2009. It was also noted that Al Cornac is scheduled to have surgery and may not be able to attend

December 16, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Joe Glyin at 7:20 PM

Minutes of the last meeting: The minutes of the October 14, 2009 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report: The treasurer was not able to attend, but there were no transactions since the last meeting.

Old Business: Joe Glynn is still trying to get more sponsors for Chapter 2. Because of the shortfall, the chapter has to charge $10.00 this year for members to eat at the Christmas dinner, non members pay $15.00.

New Business: No new business.

The last item for the business portion of the meeting was the election of officers and appointment of chairpersons for 2010. There were no nominations for any offices other than the incumbants. By unanimous ballot, the following officers were elected for 2010:

The following appointed positions were made Since chapter two does not publish a newsletter, the position of Newsletter Editor is vacant.
Chapter two also does not have a Membership Chairman

Presentation: We were unable to obtain anyone for a formal presentation, so members had a round table discssion. It was noted that today was the 2nd anniversery of the WNEP analog tower collapse.
